St. Peter’s Lutheran Church is a member congregation of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod (LCMS).  We are connected with over 6,100 other LCMS congregations in this nation and abroad.  In this church body we are confessional – meaning that we confess the same doctrines and seek to practice our faith similarly in accordance with the teachings of the Holy Scriptures. Our confession of faith and standard of practice is defined by the following:

The Holy Bible

We believe the Holy Bible to be the true Word of God and the only source and standard of Christian belief and life.  The reading, study, and application of God’s Word to our church, our families, our jobs, and our daily lives is central.  We seek to distinguish between God’s Word of command and His Word of promise, finding balance in ‘hearing His voice’.

The Three Ecumenical Creeds

Along with most Christians in the world, we confess the 3 Ecumenical Creeds – the Apostles’, the Nicene, and the Athanasian – as representative of God’s self-revelation to us in His Word.  Most Sundays we confess one of them, and all three find expression at least once during the year.  [link]

The Lutheran Confessions

We commit ourselves to the standard of Lutheran confession of faith which developed out of the Reformation in the 16th century, when clarification of salvation by grace alone, through faith alone, because of Christ alone was again articulated.
